The three recent polls – SUSA, PPP, and LIM (Leaked Internal Moran) all show variations of two indisputable facts:
First, Terry McAuliffe leads the primary. And second, Creigh is a distant third.
It’s a good thing I don’t believe a f*cking single thing these polls say, or I would have to begin doubting myself. When push comes to shove, Creigh Deeds is by far the Democrat most able to beat Bob McDonnell and, of all four candidates, the one with the right experience, temperament and worldview to be the best Governor for our state. I also believe in the genius of Democracy and the wisdom of voters.
As a result of all of these factors, I am certain Creigh will win this primary.
This is my story, and I'm sticking to it, at least until June 9.

Creigh Deeds ---> our next governor.
ReplyDeleteLet's get to work. www.cvillefordeeds.com
If Deeds were to win the nomination, does anyone think the NRA would endorse him this year as it did in 2005?
ReplyDeleteAznew, I've know you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. No matter who you support, there's no way you can claim Deeds is surging. I believe, have believed, and always will believe Deeds is the best candidate to face McDonnell, but you have to be able to win your own party's nomination (which Creigh seems to have a tough time doing) to make it to Round 2.
ReplyDeleteBigvinu - I don't claim these polls show Creigh is surging. These polls show Terry is surging, clearly. I just don't believe them. We'll see.
ReplyDeleteJsrutstein - I don't know. I'm not sure that Creigh's efforts to reach a compromise on the gun show loophole ought to change his NRA rating, but to tell you the truth, I don't think their lack of an endorsement would matter, although were Creigh to make it to the general and earn it, it would help him, IMHO.
Let's not forget the main thing here is to beat Bob McDonnell. If we beat him we can injure the Republican Party in Virginia for a generation...who's coming up behind him? The bench is thin.
ReplyDeleteIf Bob McDonnell were to reverse his position on off-shore drilling and Terry were the nominee, I would SERIOUSLY consider going Bob's way just to give the Clinton's the slap in the face they deserve.
ReplyDelete~Virginia Voters are not for sale Terry~
Why do you think the Clinton's deserve a slap?
